Using Apple's Automated Internet Setup Assistant

Setting up your Macintosh Internet Connection
Using Apple's Automated Internet Setup Assistant:

1) Find the Program Icon Labeled "Internet Setup Assistant" (Usually in the "assistants folder"). Launch the assistant.

2) To start setting up your Martnet account, click on the "Yes" button in the "Welcome" dialog box as shown below:

3)Click the "Yes" button when asked "Do you already have an Internet account?" as shown below:

4) Read the "Introduction" dialog box then click on the right arrow to continue, as shown below:

5) In the "Configuration name and connection type" dialog box, name the configuration "Martnet," and select "Modem" as your connection method. Then click the right arrow as shown below:

6) In the "Modem Settings" dialog box, if the correct modem and port are not listed, click on the pull-down menus and select them. Choose "Tone" or "Pulse" dialing depending on the type of telephone service you have, as shown below. Then click on the right arrow:

7) In the "Configuration Information" dialog box, enter your local Martnet access number, your username, and your password as shown below. *Also be sure thatThen click the right arrow:

Please Note: As of June 1, 1999 in Philadelphia you will be required to dial 10 digits to make any phone call in the United States (even to call your next door neighbor). This is a telephone company requirement. For example: if you are in the 215 area code and are dialing the 555-5555 access number, beginning June 5, 1999 you will need to dial 215-555-5555. 8) In the "PPP Connect Scripts" dialog box, select "No" then click the right arrow as shown below:

9) In the "IP Address" dialog box, select "No" then click the right arrow as shown below:

10) In the "Domain Name Servers" dialog box, configure as shown below, then click the right arrow:

11) In the "E-mail address and password" dialog box, configure as show below. Input your username and password where indicated, then click the right arrow:

12) In the "E-mail account and host computer" dialog box, configure as shown below. Input your username where indicated, then click the right arrow: Figure A shows what tio

13) In the "Newsgroup Host Computer" dialog box, configure as shown below, then click the right arrow:

14) As shown below, select "No" when asked "Do you use proxy servers for Internet connections?" Then click the right arrow:

15) In the "Conclusion" dialog box, select "Connect when finished" (if you want to immediately access the Internet) then click the "Go Ahead" button.
